Sharp Electronics Corp., a leading distributor of consumer electronics, today announced a channel strategy for the Zaurus™ product line. Sharp will focus on building partnerships with VARs and System Integrators to target the enterprise market.
Sharp plans to build a network of VARs, System Integrators and corporate Mobile Solutions Resellers, with expertise in selling Linux®/Java™-based solutions. Potential partners will be invited to join the Sharp Mobile Solutions Reseller program based on their ability to meet qualifications. The comprehensive program will offer channel discounts, marketing and lead generation, sales incentives and technical support. In addition, Sharp will leverage existing alliance partners to gain access to corporate VARs/Enterprise channels. This exclusive program is designed for selected VARs, Systems Integrators and Resellers that deliver unique solutions for the Zaurus. Resellers will have an opportunity to resell the enterprise version of Sharp Mobile Services, Unwired by Aether, or if they have their own solution, they can take advantage of Sharp's programs to help market their Zaurus solution. Sharp Mobile Services, Unwired by Aether, is developed on a Linux-based platform that also incorporates a powerful Personal Java Virtual Machine, providing behind-the-firewall security, flexibility and scalability required by corporate users. Aether and Sharp will provide users with an integrated wireless data package, including application server and support hosting, product fulfillment, customer care, technical support, and 24-hour network operations support.
