| Handmark, Inc., the # 1 publisher of
software for both Palm OS and Windows Mobile(tm) platforms for handheld
devices, has signed a long term publishing agreement with Oxford
University
Press, Inc. Handmark will publish a variety of reference and special
interest titles sold through online distribution and in retail packages.
The
comprehensive agreement covers at least fifteen Oxford titles to be
released
exclusively by Handmark within the next five years for Palm OS based
devices
as well as for Windows Mobile for Pocket PC and Smartphone platforms.
First New Handmark/Oxford Title Now Available The first title, The Oxford American Desk Dictionary and Thesaurus is now available for Palm OS and Pocket PC based handheld devices and will soon be released for Windows Mobile(tm) for smartphones. This unique reference title combines two indispensable language tools in one convenient application. With over 150,000 entries Oxford's combined dictionary and thesaurus approach integrates definitions with full lists of synonyms. Based on the updated 2nd edition of the hardbound Oxford version the Handmark title includes such new words as 9/11, cargo pants, and weaponzie along with hundreds of other new entries. The new Handmark dictionary and thesaurus title is available at retail stores featuring PDAs and online from the Handmark web store at http://www.handmark.com as well as other online resellers. |
