| Casio to put PDAs to work |
||
Casio Electronics has a long history in handheld devices, mostly in the consumer market. But for the past few years the firm has been quietly building a PDA business for the corporate sector. Its latest models, due this month, are rugged mobiles designed to automate tasks in the retail and parcel delivery sectors. This month the firm will release two new handhelds, the IT-500 and the DT-X10. Both have numeric keypads in addition to touch-sensitive TFT screens. Both can also stand a drop onto concrete from at least a metre, and they comply with the IP54 environmental standard, which means they can be used safely even in the rain. http://www.vnunet.com/Analysis/1139110 |
