Get The Big Picture: Verizon Wireless Introduces Audiovox CDM-9900 Digital Video And Camera Phone
Starting tomorrow, consumers will have a new option for capturing life moments or for simply saying hello. Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, and Audiovox Communications Corporation (ACC), a majority owned subsidiary of Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ:VOXX) , today announced the launch of the Audiovox CDM-9900, a digital video and camera phone with a 2.2 inch, high-resolution Quarter Video Graphics Array (QVGA) LCD screen. The full-featured device is also Get It Now(R)-capable, enabling customers to browse and download games, productivity tools, ringtones and more from the Get It Now virtual store.

The CDM-9900 has many features perfect for customers who love to use their phones to capture memories, play games and more. With the phone's built-in camcorder, customers can capture 15 seconds of video and send video messages with Get It Now's getFLIX, or use the embedded flash for still photos with the built-in 640x480 pixel VGA camera. The CDM-9900's vibrant 2.2" QVGA color screen is perfect for checking out the latest Get It Now games, entertainment and productivity applications. In addition, the handset has a TFT 260K18-bit color display and outside color LCD uses STN technology that supports 65K colors so customers can see who is calling when they link photos and graphics to the caller ID.

The CDM-9900 also boasts a built-in speakerphone -- perfect for hands-free operation, voice memo, voice activated dialing and voice guidance -- and an internal 300-slot phone book, each capable of holding up to five numbers and three e-mail addresses. The CDM-9900 comes with a standard rechargeable LiIon battery for up to 196 minutes of talk time or up to 360 hours of standby time in digital mode.

The Audiovox CDM-9900 is available beginning tomorrow for $49.99 with a two-year customer agreement. Download charges for Get It Now applications vary and airtime charges apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications. The new Audiovox CDM-9900 will be available in more than 1,200 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, at participating Circuit City and RadioShack locations, and on the Web at http://www.verizonwireless.com/
