| FujiFilm xD PictureCard review @ EvnyNews |
||
In what appears to be a web-first review, we look at FujiFilm’s xD PictureCard flash memory form-factor. Developed by Olympus and FujiFilm, this Toshiba-manufactured wanna-be standard encroaches on SecureDigital’s territory with an ultra-thin, lower-powered, and tiny flash storage card. We review the FujiFilm xD CompactFlash adapter, a 32MB and 64MB xD PictureCard, and throw some USB 1.1 and 2.0 read/write benchmarks. There’s no denying it, no one else has reviewed this nor acquired USB 2.0 benchmarks since no USB 2.0 xD Reader exists yet... Here’s a snip:“Are you a little overwhelmed by all the current Flash card formats already in existence? No? Well, say hello to the xD PictureCard. I first saw this new media on shelves a few months back and frankly thought that any company trying to introduce a new format would be shy of insane. As such, I feel the need to ask just one question - will the new format offer enough benefits to prove itself and compete against the other standards, or will it become just another form-factor to add to the growing pile of confusion?” FujiFilm xD PictureCard - http://www.envynews.com/review.php?ID=359 |
