| Video Showcases MessagEase Text Entry for Small Devices |
||
| Exideas has released a video showcasing its MessagEase text entry technology for small devices. The video demonstrates how MessagEase provides full text and complete keyboard replacement using a very small area or few buttons. You can access this video from www.exideas.com or by following one of these links: Windows Media: http://www.exideas.com/ME/videos/MEintro.wmv
MessagEase technology provides a much needed text entry means for devices when a full QWERTY keyboard cannot be implemented. It presents a practical and fast alternative through its easy-to-use Interface. "Because of its small footprint, MessagEase is the ideal choice for many area-limited devices. For example, it is perfect for Voice Over IP (VOIP) phones. It transforms this soon-to-be-ubiquitous device into a complete and powerful platform by adding text entry and interactivity to it," Said Saied Nesbat, Ph.D., President and CEO of Exideas. "Furthermore, MessagEase uniquely fits the requirements of a wearable computer keyboard by being small yet full function. It can be used in a variety of military and industrial applications." Currently Exideas has several MessagEase products running on Tablet PCs, Pocket PCs and Palm OS devices. It is also running on a couple of off-the-shelf external touchpads, transforming them into complete PC keyboards operable with one finger. MessagEase is also applicable to cell phones, TV remote controllers, watches, car navigation systems, and other small mobile devices. Based on years of scientific research (See ICMI-03 paper: http://exideas.com/ME/ICMI2003Paper.pdf ) MessagEase uses an optimized system of taps and slides for entering full text-taps for most frequent letters and slides for the rest. MessagEase essentially uses 9 keys. These fewer keys are bigger, therefore easier and faster to target. With these fewer keys MessagEase enters all letters, numbers and special characters. MessagEase keyboard for Microsoft Windows (Tablet, XP, or 2000) also includes Alt and Ctrl keys, function keys, all cursor navigation commands, as well as common editing functions. About Exideas A privately held company, Exideas specializes in Computer-Human Interface and is committed to user interaction innovation for the emerging mobile devices.
