Funk Software today introduced Odyssey Client v3.0, a major upgrade to their secure 802.1X access client that includes powerful "Enterprise Wireless Client Provisioning" features that make Odyssey Client uniquely able to meet the security and manageability requirements of enterprises who are deploying large-scale secure WLAN or wired 802.1X access. Enterprise Wireless Client Provisioning vastly simplifies the deployment and management of the Client across PCs and handheld devices on the network, enhances security, and provides network managers with a greater level of control over how users can connect to the network. Also included in Odyssey Client v3.0 is advanced support for the Novell Client for Windows, to bring secure, easy-to-use WLAN connectivity to Novell Client users.
Odyssey Client runs on Windows XP, 2000, 98, Me, Pocket PC 2002, and Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC, and supports EAP-TTLS, PEAP (v0 and v1), EAP-TLS, and LEAP authentication methods, and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) and WEP encryption protocols. Pricing and Availability Odyssey Client v3.0 will be available in April 2004 directly from Funk Software as well as through Funk Software's Inner Circle Partners, local system integrators and VARs, from Ingram Micro, Tech Data, TerraWave Solutions, and WAV, Inc., and online from the Funk Software web site. It is available outside the US/Canada through Funk Software's network of authorized international partners. Odyssey Client costs $50/machine; quantity discounts and private-label licensing are available. A 30-day trial copy of Odyssey Client v3.0 is available for download from Funk Software's web site at www.funk.com/ . |
