| This is one of the announcements we have all been waiting for. Microsoft has announced Windows Mobile 2003, Second Edition earlier today. So what is Windows Mobile 2003, Second Edition all about? Let's take a closer look.
Display support One of the most anticipated updates that Windows Mobile 2003, Second Edition provides is the addition of VGA display support and Dynamic switching of the screen orientation (Portrait to Landscape or vice-versa). With Microsoft's official support of VGA display, this should mean that we should expect to see more VGA display Pocket PC's by the end of this year quite possibly including one from HP as I reported here. The extra space that the VGA display will provide will be welcomed by many Pocket PC users and to make sure that the bigger screen didn't mean smaller fonts, Microsoft included a settings panel with a slider that will allow you to control the size of the font. The on-screen keyboard and icons also get a face lift in VGA displays. http://www.ipaqabilities.com/reviews_articles/...WM2003 SE |
