MobileAware Helps Web Developers Go Mobile For Free
MobileAware, specialists in delivering content to wireless handsets, announces the release of a free 30-day trial version of its mobility extension for BEA WebLogic Workshop, providing developers with the capability to rapidly create content and services for both fixed-line and wireless delivery.

BEA developers can download the Mobility Extension directly from the web at www.MobileAware.com/bea/dev2mobile.html to immediately begin creating mobile services using Workshop.

MobileAware believes that a perceived complexity of wireless application development has delayed the broad availability of mobile content and services. Its free release of mobility extensions for Workshop will demonstrate the simplicity of mobile development.

“Simply put, developers want to use their favourite development tools to create applications and services. They do not want to use a proprietary development environment,” says Paul Strzelecki, Executive Chairman of MobileAware. “With our mobility extension, MobileAware enables mainstream web application developers to become mobile service creators within one hour. And by making the software available on a free 30-day trial basis, we are letting them see how easy it is to create wireless applications while still using Workshop as their integrated development environment. We believe our breakthrough solution and free trial offer adds up to a significant industry first.”

By partnering with BEA Systems, MobileAware can bring mobility to a developer community of more than 500,000 people. The Mobility Extension seamlessly integrates with WebLogic Workshop for services creation and BEA WebLogic Portal for services deployment.

“This is a major milestone towards realising our vision of liberating the entire web domain and introducing its developer community to the world of mobility,” added Strzelecki.
