Motorola And Giant International Introduce Innovative Series Of Motorola Talkabout Two-Way Radios
Motorola and Giant International -- Motorola's Talkabout strategic market alliance -- plan to introduce four new Motorola Talkabout two-way radios to complement other Motorola Talkabout two-way radio models for 2004. The "Innovative Series" of Motorola Talkabout radios will include MP3, solar-charging, text messaging and games targeting active family and outdoor lifestyles, while keeping family members in touch and in constant communication.

In addition to the "Innovative Series," the entire Motorola Talkabout line has been dramatically redesigned and functionally re-engineered, producing a series of contemporary colors and styles with rugged durability and clear signals. The radios have been upgraded with the latest functional technology, enhancing the units' already superior Motorola performance and durability.

"All of the Motorola Talkabout radios have been re-engineered to upgrade technical features and to provide exciting new looks to complement the outstanding performance Motorola is known for," said Giant International Marketing Director Cortlandt Minnich.

Robust signal clarity for long ranges is the hallmark of the newly redesigned Motorola Talkabout two-way radio series. Motorola Talkabout two-way radios are designed to deliver outstanding range, while also offering those operating in closer proximity with superior clarity and reliability.

The new Motorola Talkabout series of two-way radios will have the built-in power to take advantage of both General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) and Family Radio Service (FRS) frequencies. The series will feature Motorola engineering advances to provide the range, clarity and reliability expected from Motorola's market leading hand-held two-way radios.

Motorola's Talkabout T5SOL

Motorola's Talkabout T5SOL two-way radio concept will have a distinctive "Solar Boost" feature that permits users to use their radios longer outdoors using the sun's energy. While not replacing direct-current recharging, this Solar Boost feature will make the T5SOL a serious radio for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts needing longer talk time when they are outdoors.

"The Solar Boost capability was created in specific response to consumers who said they needed to be able to talk longer between recharges, "said Giant International Marketing Director Cortlandt Minnich. The T5SOL Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is $79-$89 per pair.

Motorola's Talkabout T5MP3

The new Motorola Talkabout T5MP3 two-way radio concept will offer up to a two-mile range and also has a built-in MP3 player on a wearable Velcro armband or lanyard - perfect for joggers and cyclists. The T5MP3 dual-purpose two-way radio will be another new "first" for Motorola. The MP3 player feature makes it appealing for people to carry their radios and keep in touch with their group. To ensure immediate communications, incoming messages will trigger the MP3 player's mute feature. The T5MP3 Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is $79.99 each.

Motorola's Talkabout T5GAM

The Motorola Talkabout T5GAM two-way radio concept is the third in the series of innovative radios Motorola and Giant International is expected to release in 2004. This two-way radio will feature four exciting games to keep young users occupied. It is the perfect communication device for families on the go. The T5GAM Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is $39-$49 each.

Motorola's Talkabout T5SMS

Motorola's Talkabout T5SMS is a concept text messaging two-way radio, created to test market acceptance for a dual-use radio that also includes instant text messaging. The T5SMS features Peer-to-Peer Short Message Service which will allow text messages to be sent and received directly to each other's two-way radio. The concept radio is both a fully functional, two-way radio with an extended range and a completely portable hand-held text-messaging device. The T5SMS Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is $99.99 per pair.
