I hate entering numbers on a laptop computer. Although a few laptops have numeric keypads, most have a standard keyboard without a keypad. While it is possible to activate the built-in keypad, which substitutes certain keys on the keyboard with a set of numeric keys in a keypad configuration, I find it annoying to use. If you are constantly working with numbers or using a spreadsheet application which requires entering letters, numbers, and symbols constantly, nothing beats a separate, standard, numeric keypad.
