| As a guy with fairly big hands, I found a long time ago that the little stylus that came with my PDA is just too small for comfort. There are a lot of nice pen-style styli and I’ve tried a bunch. I’ve found it’s best if the stylus has a normal writing point, as well, or you end up with a pocket full of writing implements. This one fits that bill, and more.
It looks pretty much like any nice pen; a burnished metal body with a nice knurled grip area, a pushbutton at the end to deploy the point and a little plastic button on the clip to retract it. But it’s more than that, it has four different writing instruments built in. In addition to a very nice-feeling stylus, you have two pens, red and black, and a 0.5mm mechanical pencil. Even cooler, which point gets deployed when you push the pen top is determined by the position you hold the pen in. It sounds like it might be difficult, but in practice it is very easy to use and it is incredibly fun to watch the confused looks on co-worker's faces as they realize that the _last_ time you pushed the same button on the pen, it was a pencil. It uses standard leads for the pencil and the same little refills that all of the multifunction pens use, so refills should be a snap. The only complaint I can come up with is that for some odd reason they neglected to put an eraser under the push button. Not a crucial oversight, but one that somewhat minimizes the value of the pencil. The stylus is surprisingly light and no bigger around than a standard pen. Its all-metal body makes it look a more tech than elegant. It’s not quite in the same category, styling-wise, as those pens they sell in the jewelry stores, but it’s also in a much more modest price range – and it has gadget appeal that those pens never have. This is the pen I have in my pocket every day, now, and that’s the best recommendation I can give it. Tucker Hatfield Editors Note: We too have been using the STYLUS+ 4-way Original and find it to be a real gem. I would like to note that the stylus we have been using does have an eraser under the push cap. Just like their logo says "It's more than just a stylus, it's a matter of style". We give it a 5 Star rating. http://www.StylusPlus.com |
