Here is where the dilemma came in; all this shiny new 1080p HDMI gear and an old Xbox 360. I have been waiting for a Jasper unit for some time and finally decided the wait was not worth it. I really wanted HDMI and the larger hard drive as I use Xbox Live Marketplace to buy TV shows and such. I ditched cable TV last month once Netflix and Playon was on the scene in full force.

From what I have been reading only the Xbox 360 Arcade units have been coming as Jasper revisions. The Falcon revisions have been performing well, and I was tired of waiting and was ready to make the purchase. As luck would have it the wait was actually worth it this time.

For Christmas, my girlfriend ordered the Xbox 360 Pro to replace the older unit, thus allowing the older unit to be moved into the bedroom.  This I am sure had nothing to do with being able to watch Netflix in bed and her Luxor 2 habit.

Now for the important info; the unit was ordered from Amazon on December 22nd. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the Xbox 360 Pro unit I received was actually a Jasper revision.  The unit did come with a Falcon revision power supply as I have read can be the case with some of the new Arcade units.

Items that seem to indicate this 360 Pro unit is a Jasper revision: 12.1 amp power requirement, manufacture date Nov 2 2008, proper Jasper keyed power supply input, Team: FDOU, Lot No: 0845X

Update: A few people have asked and there appears to be no added memory like the 256MB found on board the new Arcade units. The console did require an update to install NXE (New Xbox Experience).

Note: Your mileage may vary, I could have just been lucky. In other words ordering from Amazon does not guarantee you a Jasper revision.
