About PDAToday and MaximumPDA

Welcome to the PDAToday.com and thank you for reading. I started this site back in December of 1999 with an interest in providing news and reviews about cool new gadgets and PDA's. Back then we were only known as MaximumPDA. The website has gone through many changes over the past few years as we added new features and content. With this growth in mind we have expanded the site to include PDAToday to focus on daily news, shopping, and commentary freeing up MaximumPDA and its volunteer editors to focus on what they do best, product reviews.

Our website is run on a shoestring budget and most of our support comes from affiliate sales and the banner ads you see running on the site. Be sure to visit our sponsors and help us to keep providing you with great news and reviews.

Beyond providing great PDA news and reviews PDAToday and MaximumPDA also sponsor the Puget Sound Handheld Users Group. PSHUG.org is the largest PocketPC/Handheld Club in North America and is nationally recognized as a leader in the handheld technology community by Microsoft. They meet once a month in Redmond Washington. Our primary goal in supporting this group is to provide valuable usable information to people curious about mobile technology and to support the growing number of regular people who are starting to use handheld technology in their daily lives. We also strive to provide useful information for the seasoned mobile veteran. Part of doing this is setting up live hands on demos of the software and hardware that we review on MaximumPDA.

Thanks for reading,

Bill Landon

Website acknowledgements:

We would like to thank all of our sponsors and vendors who have spent the time and resources to send us products to review. There are too many to name here however you will find them in our reviews section.

We would like to thank Rick Ellis, founder and lead developer pMachine and ExpressionEngine. ExpressionEngine is a sophisticated yet simple to use weblog or blog as they are known by on the internet. Our developers were able to take this very flexible PHP and mySQL blog and craft it to become our primary Content Management System. pMachine has too many great features to list here but I recommend you give it a close look if you want to create your own blog or news website as I am sure you will find that it is one of the finest content back end systemss available.

Additionally we would like to thank Nevin Lyne director of EngineHosting.com for his tireless effort in maintaining our servers and dedication to the integrity of our data. Nevin has spent many hours and late nights to ensure the transfer of our site to the new servers and content managementt system go as smoothly and seamlessly as possible.

There are many people to thank for the success we have seen with PDAToday and MaximumPDA, however the biggest thanks goes to you our readers. Without your support and readership none of this would be possible.

Thank You,

Bill Landon
