Samsung SC-DC564 Camcorder Review @ Digital Trends
Posted by Bill Landon in Consumer_Electronics | Consumer_Electronic_News | (0) Comments |

image"All over the world, people know the Samsung name, and most people have either used or purchased a Samsung product at some point in their lives. In recent years, Samsung has had notable success in the HDTV market as well as the camcorder market. The Samsung SC-DC564, one of the newest camcorder releases, is a beautiful, miniDVD-capable unit that seems to be very budget-friendly at only $349 USD. Check out our hands-on review to see if the SC-DC564 is representative of Samsung’s good name or if it’ll be remembered as a shameful disappointment.”

This really looks slick and while the low price and attractive design may bring you our peeps at DigitalTrends note that the SC-DC564 suffers from poor video quality, a short battery life and the lack of included blank media.

Logitech diNovo Edge Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard Review @ ThinkComputers.org
Posted by Bill Landon in Consumer_Electronics | Personal_Computer | Consumer_Electronic_News | Personal_Computer_News | (0) Comments |

imageQuote: “When you make a statement saying you have the “World’s most advanced keyboard”, you better be able to back it up. When Logitech said they had the world’s most advanced mouse in the MX Revolution they were able to back it up. The diNovo Edge features Bluetooth technology, a stylish sleek design, charging base, and backlit stealth controls. Let’s see of this keyboard has what it takes to stop me from using the keyboard I have been using since last August!”

"When you think that the keyboard cannot be reinvented Logitech does it! The diNovo Edge is simply amazing. It bring elegance onto your desktop with its sleek and slim style. It is thinner than a penny! Also the aluminum wrist rest and glossy finish really set the keyboard apart when it comes to style.

The illuminated function keys are such a great idea. They are done in such a way that they are cool, yet elegant. As I said before Logitech has been very successful with touch-sensitive systems on previous products and the diNovo edge is no different. The touch-sensitive volume control is great and it is always good to have volume control on your keyboard. It’s much easier than having to reach over and adjust the volume on your speakers or going into Windows and do it."

BlackBerry 8800 Review at XYZ Computing
Posted by Bill Landon in Consumer_Electronics | General_PDA | Mobile_Phones | Consumer_Electronic_News | General_PDA_News | Mobile_Phone_News | (0) Comments |

image"The softening of the BlackBerry’s edges, even in a business model like this one, is due to the influence of the Pearl. The Pearl was their first model to use the trackball and have the slick new design, an aspect that previous models lacked. A quick glance at the Pearl (aka the 8100) and then at the 8800 will reveal how closely they are related. Of course the 8800 is larger, due to the use of a QWERTY keyboard, but both are slim and stylish. Compared to the stubbier 8700, both of these phones are more attractive and prove conclusively that business does not have to be boring.”

XYZ comes to a similar conclusion that I had when I was demo’ing a unit a few weeks back; it was great at email, had built in GPS, and looks great. However there were shortcoming such as no Bluetooth stereo support and no camera; both a deal breaker in my opinion. XYZ also noted that the keyboard was cramped and the siderails were squeaky.
