| NSTL Selected as Wi-Fi Certification Testing Organization |
||
| National Software Testing Laboratories (NSTL), the world's leading mobile, wireless and PC certification test lab, has been selected by the Wi-Fi Alliance to become an authorized test lab for its certification testing program. The program will allow NSTL to test and certify Wi-Fi products at the company's suburban Philadelphia, PA and Taipei, Taiwan test facilities. NSTL should be able to begin accepting submissions upon completion of the qualification process.
NSTL has established two Wi-Fi dedicated test labs within its Pennsylvania and Taiwan test facilities. The labs will service the more than 200 members of the Wi-Fi Alliance with state-of-the-art equipment and trained test engineers. Alliance members will be able to submit products for testing to either NSTL lab. Products which successfully pass all the Wi-Fi prescribed tests will be eligible to display the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED and Wi-Fi Alliance logo on packaging and marketing materials. "Being an approved Wi-Fi test lab is very important for NSTL. It is a natural extension of our test offerings in the mobile & wireless arena," said Lloyd Holder, NSTL's CEO. "Many of our existing clients have developed and are developing Wi-Fi enabled products and want us to be able to offer them this important certification. Mobile devices are continually adding Wi-Fi capabilities and this testing program, bundled with our other quality assurance and certification services, allows us to offer more of a one-stop-shop to our clients. We are excited about this opportunity with the Wi-Fi Alliance." "We are excited to have NSTL as part of our program. NSTL labs in the US and Asia are used by many of our members. We are happy to have them as part of our certification program and look forward to our relationship with them," said Frank Hanzlik, Managing Director of the Wi-Fi Alliance. "We value their long tradition and experience in managing certification programs as well as their infrastructure for submission and tracking products for testing," continued Hanzlik. NSTL will independently test submitted Wi-Fi products from the Alliance members around the world. The Alliance has created well-defined and focused testing procedures which will be followed at both NSTL locations. NSTL will test for compliance to the Wi-Fi specifications and assure tested products interoperate as expected. The testing is a key element in the growth of Wi-Fi acceptance. End users purchasing equipment featuring the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED(TM) logo can expect it to work with any other Wi-Fi CERTIFIED equipment right out of the box. Alliance members can get started with submissions to NSTL by selecting NSTL as their testing facility. The Wi-Fi Alliance web site http://www.wi-fi.org/ and NSTL's web site http://www.nstl.com/ will have full details of the program. |
